How to Play Breakout
Basic Rules
- Clear all colored bricks to finish a level. Gray walls bounce the balls and cannot be broken.
- Each level starts with four launch reserves. Launching uses one reserve; losing the last active ball lets you launch again if a reserve remains.
- Catch falling power-ups with the paddle: +3 adds three balls per active ball, ↑3 fires three balls upward, and ♥ adds one launch reserve.
- Choose any of the seven original levels. Selecting a level starts it from the beginning, including the current level. After clearing it, choose Next level.
Tips for Success
- Hit near the paddle's edge to send the ball sideways; hit near the center for a steeper bounce.
- Open a passage into the brick field, then catch power-ups without abandoning the last ball.
